Scanguard price in 2026: €29 now, €99 at renewal

On August 5, 2026, the live Scanguard deal served to our European connection offered Premium for €29 for the first year. The page displayed a €70 saving, three licenses and the line “Subscription auto renews at €99/year.” That is the cleanest way to read the campaign: €29 is an introductory term, not a permanent annual rate.

The separate public pricing page showed Premium at €99/year and named the same core protection family. It also said Scanguard sells monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual subscriptions. Scanguard’s live subscription pricing matrix, effective January 5, 2026, supplied the most useful European rate table: €9.99 monthly, €59 biannual and €99 annual for three device licenses. Its quarterly cell was blank.

These are dated public observations, not an Offer in our structured data and not a promise for every visitor. A different country can change currency, tax, promotion and payment options. The binding comparison is the amount collected now plus the renewal price shown in your own checkout, confirmation and portal.

Older search results deserve caution. One indexed Scanguard buy-now page still describes five licenses, while the live deal and current matrix we checked say three. We use the current direct evidence. If your cart explicitly grants another device count, save it; an account-specific order beats both our snapshot and a stale snippet.

What the core Scanguard Premium fee actually buys

Scanguard’s current pricing page names real-time antivirus, on-demand and scheduled scans, WebShield protection against phishing and scam sites, junk-file and storage cleanup, email breach alerts, and gaming/system tools. That is the core subscription value proposition. “Premium” does not mean that every card visible in the app or account is part of the €29/€99 antivirus line. The current terms identify Safe Browsing VPN, Unlimited Devices, Family Protection, Home Protection, Additional Device, AdBlock Pro, password management, Advanced Cloud Scanning, identity services and smartphone tools as examples of add-on services. Several can be activated and billed independently.

Platform scope also changes value. Current public pricing language mentions Windows, macOS and iOS, while the wider support material names Android and Fire HD too. Feature availability is not identical: the pricing footnotes say real-time threat protection and WebShield are active on desktop platforms. A phone license or app icon should not be priced as though iOS performs the same always-on file inspection as Windows.

Three included licenses are useful only when three supported devices genuinely need the product. One computer uses the same subscription as three, so the effective core renewal cost is €99 per protected device for one device, €49.50 each for two, or €33 each for three. That arithmetic does not measure protection quality, but it exposes whether unused capacity is being mistaken for value.

The free Scanguard scan is not free real-time protection

Scanguard continues to describe a free diagnostic scan: register, run a scan and see malware, unwanted-app, privacy and performance findings. The important boundary appears after detection. The company positions Premium as the subscription that automatically blocks harmful threats in real time, while the free state is primarily an assessment and conversion path.

This is why “Is Scanguard free?” needs a two-part answer. You may be able to download, register and scan without paying. You should not assume that state gives continuous real-time protection, full remediation or every feature presented during the scan. Read each recommendation screen before activating anything, because an “Activate” action can introduce a paid plan or add-on.

A free diagnostic can still be useful as an evaluation tool, but do not install multiple real-time antivirus providers just to compare alerts. Windows security-provider registration, overlapping web filters and duplicate scan engines can create slowdowns or confusing attribution. Test one active provider at a time and confirm the replacement is working before removing the current one.

Monthly, biannual and annual plans solve different risks

The annual promotion has the lowest first-year total in the snapshot: €29. Monthly pricing is more flexible but costs €119.88 over twelve uninterrupted months at the matrix’s €9.99 rate. A biannual term costs €118 over a year if renewed twice at €59. Neither comparison includes tax, foreign-exchange fees, later price changes or discounts.

The annual deal therefore wins the first-year arithmetic by a wide margin. The gap shrinks after renewal, when €99 is €20.88 below twelve monthly charges and €19 below two biannual charges under the dated matrix. Choose a term by expected use and exit flexibility, not by converting every fee into an unrealistically low “per month” badge.

Scanguard says quarterly plans exist, but the current European matrix did not publish a quarterly Premium rate. We leave that cell unknown rather than borrow a value from an old table or another region. If a quarterly offer appears in your cart, capture its total, billing interval, renewal amount and refund deadline before paying.

Scanguard add-ons can cost as much as the antivirus

The current matrix makes the subscription stack visible. In the European table effective January 5, 2026, Unlimited Protection and Safe Browsing VPN were each €99/year—the same as the standard annual Premium rate. Total Password was also €99. Advanced Cloud Scanning was €45, Family Protection €69, Smartphone Optimizer €20, Home Protection €49, one Additional Device €40, Identity Theft Protection €80 and Ad Block Pro €59.

The table is an audit aid, not a shopping list. A feature creates value only when it replaces a service you need and performs acceptably. Paying €99 for Premium, another €99 for VPN and €59 for ad blocking creates a €257 annual stack before tax. A bundled competitor or a combination of built-in tools can cost less, while a household that uses every component may still prefer one support ecosystem.

The pricing matrix also contains a legacy section for older Essential Antivirus and Browser Boost subscriptions. Those rows remain relevant to existing customers but are not a new-customer plan ladder. Check the exact product name in your portal before comparing an old Essential renewal with the current Premium deal.

Calculate the real Scanguard cost before the refund clock starts

Start with five fields: charge today, regular renewal, device count, every selected add-on and the applicable refund window. The first-year antivirus promotion is only one line. Tax and foreign-exchange fees can change the final total, and each add-on can have its own charge date.

A simple three-year illustration exposes the promotion effect. If the deal charges €29 in year one and renews at €99 in years two and three with no price, tax or currency change, the core total is €227—an average of about €75.67 per year. That is not a forecast; Scanguard can change future rates with notice. It is a decision test that prevents the €29 campaign from representing all three years in your head.

Add one €99/year VPN service for all three years and the illustration becomes €524. Add €59/year Ad Block Pro as well and it reaches €701. Again, those numbers assume no change and should not be used as an invoice prediction. Their job is to show why “one login” can still contain several large recurring commitments.

Compare at renewal, not only at acquisition. Use the €99 core baseline and the exact add-ons you intend to keep, then compare current alternatives on protection evidence, false positives, supported platforms, VPN quality, password-manager migration and support. A cheap first year cannot compensate for a weak fit or an expensive unused stack.

How Scanguard auto-renewal and notices work

Scanguard’s promotional-pricing guidance says an introductory discount applies only to the first billing period. At the end of that monthly, quarterly, biannual or annual term, the subscription renews at the regular rate shown during checkout and in the confirmation email. The portal’s Overview area should show the upcoming date and amount.

The current terms of service say annual and multi-year customers receive a renewal notice up to 30 days before renewal, while monthly subscriptions renew without the same notice. The public pricing page says annual customers receive advance notice at least 15 days before renewal. These statements can coexist as a window; the account-specific email and portal are the evidence that matters for your subscription.

Terms also say a cancellation election should be made at least one day before the end of the current billing cycle. Do not turn that minimum into your personal reminder. Check the account several weeks early, especially if the original email is unavailable, the payment card changed or multiple services have different dates.

A failed renewal is not necessarily an immediate cancellation. Current billing help describes a grace period of 14 days for monthly or quarterly plans and 30 days for biannual or annual plans, with possible retries. Update or cancel in the portal rather than assuming a declined card ended the agreement.

One Scanguard login can hide several renewal switches

Scanguard’s current billing support center says services bought with the same email can appear under a unified login for convenience. It immediately adds the important condition: each subscription is still managed individually. Canceling Premium leaves another active service alone unless you also manage that line.

Open My Subscriptions or My Services and inventory each row. Record product name, status, next payment, amount, payment method and cancel control. Match those rows to invoices. If a service appears twice or a charge has no matching row, use the verified transaction-search/support route rather than sending full card details to an email address found in a forum.

“Activate” deserves the same care as “Buy.” Scanguard’s current overcharge guidance says some higher bills follow an add-on or upgrade activation, and additional services can be charged immediately. Read the price and recurring terms before confirming a feature card; a useful trial prompt can still create a separate subscription.

Refund deadlines depend on the subscription type

Scanguard’s current refund guide gives annual and biannual subscriptions 30 days from initial purchase or renewal. Monthly and quarterly plans use 14 days. Add-on services also use 14 days, even when billed annually.

Turning off auto-renewal is not a refund request. It prevents the next term and normally leaves the paid service active until expiry. A refund asks to reverse an eligible current charge, requires termination and ends access when processed. Decide which result you want before clicking, and save both the cancellation and support confirmations.

Scanguard says most approved refunds are processed within 24–48 hours, though a payment provider can take up to ten working days. The relevant clock is the request deadline, not the day funds reappear. Submit the request with account email, purchase date and invoice number, then retain the case record.

The receipt—not the app icon—controls the billing route

A subscription purchased directly from Scanguard belongs in its Online Portal. An Apple App Store or Google Play purchase must be managed through that store. A reseller controls its own billing and refund arrangement. The installed application can look the same in all three cases, which is why starting from the software menu can send a billing question to the wrong place.

Open the original receipt and identify merchant, order/reference number, account email, product name, term, currency, tax, amount charged, renewal statement and refund deadline. For a direct purchase, compare the receipt with every row in My Subscriptions. For a store purchase, open the store’s subscriptions screen under the same Apple or Google account used at checkout.

Do not publish or send a full card number, CVV, PIN or password. Scanguard’s official transaction-search help says a card lookup may request the first six digits, last four digits and expiry, and explicitly says it never needs the full number, CVV or PIN. Use only the verified Scanguard domain and support route.

Uninstalling is a separate device task. It does not cancel a direct, store or reseller subscription. Conversely, canceling does not remove the software or guarantee that another antivirus is active. Keep billing evidence first, then make the protection handoff deliberately.

Currency, tax and account notices can change the number

Our €29/€99 snapshot came from a European connection. Scanguard supports USD, GBP, EUR, CAD and AUD views in its matrix, and the site can localize offers. A US buyer can see dollars; another country can add VAT, sales tax or a bank conversion fee. Quoting one currency without the observation date would make the article look precise while being wrong for many readers.

Future rates can also change. The terms allow renewal at the standard price identified at enrollment or communicated before renewal and say material price changes receive prior notice. Save the checkout and confirmation so a later comparison has a baseline. A landing page months later may show a new campaign, but it cannot reconstruct the promise attached to your order.

Community reviews reinforce the need for evidence, not a verdict by anecdote. Current Trustpilot material includes readers who like the product and others describing renewal or payment confusion. Those reports are directional: they tell us to teach receipt matching, separate-subscription checks and early deadlines. They do not prove that every bill is wrong or that every support case will follow the same path.

Who gets good value from Scanguard Premium?

A three-device household can justify the core plan if it wants Scanguard’s desktop protection and the machines behave well during the refund window. At €29, the first-year core cost is under €10 per used device. At €99 renewal, it becomes €33 each. The protection evidence and false-positive experience still matter more than that seat arithmetic.

A one-device buyer should compare more broadly. The renewal is €99 for one used endpoint even though three licenses are available. Compare Microsoft Defender’s built-in baseline and current paid suites that include more devices or privacy tools in one subscription. A VPN or password-manager buyer must price the separate lines. If the matrix rate applies, adding Safe Browsing VPN or Total Password can double the €99 core renewal. Compare their capability, privacy terms, platform coverage and migration work with standalone products before activation. Convenience is real, but so is a second renewal switch.

A short-term buyer may prefer monthly flexibility, yet €9.99 for twelve months exceeds the standard annual rate. Monthly also uses a 14-day refund window and receives no annual-style renewal notice under the terms. Flexibility is the product; do not present it as the cheapest long-term route.

Skip the offer if the only attraction is €29. Test the product, inspect the account for extra services, compare current independent evidence and decide whether €99 plus chosen add-ons still looks fair. A promotion is useful when it lowers the cost of a suitable product, not when it postpones the real comparison for a year.

Save this evidence before you pay

Capture the final cart after choosing country, currency, term and devices. It should show the exact product, amount collected now, regular renewal amount, tax, merchant and account email. Expand every optional service and remove anything you do not intend to buy. A screenshot of the marketing page is not enough if the checkout changes the terms.

After payment, compare the confirmation with the cart and open the verified Online Portal. List every service, its next charge and auto-renewal state. Calendar the applicable 30- or 14-day refund deadline and a separate review at least several weeks before renewal. Store the order number and confirmations somewhere you can reach even if the protected device fails.

Then test the actual product: real-time status, updates, quick and full scans, ordinary application launches, browser protection, false alarms and device performance. Do not trigger live malware. If the fit is poor, act while the correct refund window is open and confirm the replacement protection before removing Scanguard.
