How to Cancel Kaspersky Auto-Renewal and Request a Refund
Turning off the next payment, reversing a charge and uninstalling the app are three separate actions. The receipt tells you which account and policy control the first two.
Quick answer: For a current Standard, Plus, Premium, VPN, Password Manager or Safe Kids subscription bought directly, sign in to My Kaspersky, open Subscriptions, choose Manage Subscription and select Cancel Subscription. This stops future automatic charges; current protection continues until the paid end date. If an early renewal already posted, submit a separate refund request to the merchant. Nexway’s Kaspersky terms allow eligible requests within 30 days of the order, with approved funds typically returned in 5–7 business days.
Cancellation, refund, account removal and uninstall are different
Kaspersky’s current cancellations and refunds page draws the important line: cancellation stops future automatic charges; a refund asks the merchant to reverse money already paid. If a renewal was collected about two weeks before the old term ended, canceling now can leave the prepaid new year active unless you also request a refund.
Removing a subscription tile from My Kaspersky is different again. Kaspersky’s October 2025 account-removal instructions explicitly warn that removing an active subscription doesn't cancel it and that charges can continue. Uninstalling the application is only a device action.
| Action | What it changes | What it doesn't do |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel subscription | Stops the next automatic term | Doesn't usually refund a posted charge |
| Request refund | Asks to reverse an eligible payment | Doesn't always uninstall software |
| Remove from account | Hides or detaches the subscription record | Doesn't stop billing |
| Uninstall | Removes software from one device | Doesn't touch the merchant’s renewal instruction |
Decide which outcome you need before clicking anything. Most people leaving Kaspersky need two confirmations: auto-renewal off and another antivirus active before the paid protection ends.
Identify who charged you before looking for a cancel button
Open the purchase email and card statement. Record the product, order number, purchase email, date, amount and descriptor. Then compare the subscription in My Kaspersky. The merchant may be Kaspersky’s current direct route, Nexway, AI Marche, Allsoft, 2Checkout, Apple, Google, an internet provider or a reseller.
Kaspersky’s January 2026 auto-renewal instructions say provider rules control the route. Current Standard, Plus, Premium and Security Cloud subscriptions handled through My Kaspersky can show Cancel Subscription there. Other products or older orders can redirect to a provider portal.
Don't assume the email address used in the app owns the payment. A family member can install a shared subscription while another account holds the card. An app-store purchase belongs to the Apple ID or Google account used at checkout.
For the plan and renewal amounts you should expect, check the dated Kaspersky pricing guide. A number on the statement that doesn't match the account is evidence to preserve, not a reason to call the first phone number in search.
Cancel a current direct Kaspersky subscription
- Navigate to My Kaspersky yourself and sign in to the subscription owner’s account.
- Open Subscriptions and select the plan you want to stop renewing.
- Choose Manage Subscription.
- Select Cancel Subscription and review the benefits screen.
- Choose Cancel Subscription again to disable automatic renewal.
- Return to the subscription and verify that it now has an expiration date rather than a next charge.
Kaspersky may ask why you're leaving or offer another price. Those steps don't prove cancellation. Continue until the subscription status changes and a confirmation arrives. Capture both.
Protection should remain active through the paid term. If the app immediately reports an expired subscription, check whether a refund was also processed, whether you removed the subscription rather than canceled it, and whether the device is attached to the right account.
Legacy products, Nexway, ISP and reseller subscriptions
Kaspersky’s public cancellation page routes older Anti-Virus, Internet Security, Total Security, Security Cloud and Small Office Security orders to the personal subscription management center of its official reseller Nexway. Use the portal link from your legitimate receipt or the official Kaspersky page. If you have never signed into that portal, the documented route is the Forgot your password flow for the purchase email.
Allsoft and ISP subscriptions are managed with those providers. 2Checkout and other sellers have their own controls. Kaspersky can explain the product, but the charging merchant is the party that can stop its recurring instruction or reverse its payment.
If an old Security Cloud plan is being replaced rather than canceled, use our Security Cloud migration guide before buying a duplicate Standard, Plus or Premium term. A new product name doesn't automatically mean the old billing has ended.
Cancel Apple App Store and Google Play billing in the store account
For Apple, follow Apple’s official subscription cancellation instructions: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, select the Kaspersky product and choose Cancel Subscription. If no cancel button or expiration message appears, verify the Apple ID and receipt.
For Google Play, use Google’s cancel, pause or change a subscription guide in the Play account that paid. Deleting the Android app doesn't cancel billing. Kaspersky’s mobile distribution situation has changed, but an old store subscription can still require account cleanup.
Store refunds follow Apple’s or Google’s decision process, not Nexway’s 30-day wording. Keep the store order ID. If the purchase is part of a family group, the organizer or buyer may need to act.
Save proof that auto-renewal is really off
A successful cancellation record should show the plan, account, status and end date. Save the confirmation email as a PDF or screenshot and note the date you acted. Don't store full card numbers in the same file.
Reopen the subscription in a fresh browser session. The account should say that it expires at the end of the paid term or offer a Resume Subscription action. A marketing email saying “we will miss you” is weaker proof than the subscription status.
Set a reminder a few days before the end date and another after it. The first lets you install a replacement without a gap; the second confirms no new charge and removes the old app if you intentionally kept it through expiry.
Request a refund for an eligible Kaspersky charge
Kaspersky says payments made in its online store and automatic renewal payments handled under Nexway terms can be refunded when the request is submitted within 30 days of the order. Contact Kaspersky Customer Support through the official site and provide the purchase date, name, email and order number.
Support checks the information and policy. Kaspersky says an approved refund is credited in 5–7 business days. The bank can take additional time to post it. Save the support case, approval and refund reference; check the original payment method rather than expecting store credit.
If the initial purchase is refunded while active, Kaspersky says the subscription expires immediately. If an early renewal is refunded before the new term begins, the current term continues to its original end date. That difference is why you should install a replacement before requesting a refund for the currently active term.
Don't promise yourself a refund merely because the product was uninstalled. Eligibility depends on seller, date, region and order. The official terms and written support decision control.
Example: Kaspersky charged two weeks before expiry
Suppose the current term ends August 15 and Kaspersky renews on August 1 for another year. If you only cancel on August 2, the public cancellation page says the subscription can stay active until August 15 of the following year. You stopped the next later charge, not the one that just posted.
To leave at the original August 15 date, request a refund for the August 1 renewal within the applicable window. If approved before that new term begins, current protection continues to August 15 and the prepaid next year is canceled. Verify both the refund and the adjusted subscription end date.
This early-billing pattern is disclosed as a continuity feature, but it surprises people who plan to decide on the final day. Review the reminder email as soon as it arrives.
Former US Kaspersky customers must check UltraAV billing
US Kaspersky service ended under the 2024 prohibition, and eligible customers were transitioned to UltraAV. An account or card descriptor may now belong to UltraAV even if the user remembers buying Kaspersky. The US transition guide explains the regulatory dates and software inventory.
UltraAV’s current refund policy for transition accounts says it can't refund purchases made to Kaspersky before the transition. It can handle later UltraAV purchases and billing. Cancel in the account that now owns the renewal and save its confirmation.
Don't buy or renew Kaspersky through a foreign region as a substitute. Choose a supported US product using the Kaspersky alternatives guide, then cancel the actual current merchant.
Avoid fake Kaspersky support phone numbers in search results
Cancellation searches currently surface PDFs and pages stuffed with toll-free numbers that aren't Kaspersky’s official support channel. Some are uploaded to unrelated school, municipal or document-hosting domains. A professional-looking filename doesn't make the number genuine.
Navigate directly to Kaspersky’s domain, My Kaspersky, the app store or the seller named on the receipt. Never give a caller remote-control access, a one-time code, full card details or payment by gift card or cryptocurrency. Legitimate support can identify an order from the documented purchase information.
If you already shared remote access, disconnect the tool, change passwords from a clean device, check financial accounts and run a current scan. The scam-protection guide covers the recovery sequence.
What to do after Kaspersky is canceled
If you're keeping Kaspersky until expiry in a supported country, leave protection and updates enabled. Don't uninstall early unless another active provider is ready. A canceled subscription can still be the best bridge through its paid end date.
When replacing it, choose the new product, download its official installer, export any Password Manager data, remove Kaspersky normally and restart. The complete uninstall guide covers kavremover only when normal removal fails. Verify one active provider in Windows Security after the new installation.
For product choice, compare Kaspersky vs Norton, Bitdefender vs Kaspersky and Kaspersky vs ESET. Billing is finished when the account shows no future charge; migration is finished when the device has current protection.
Kaspersky cancellation and refund FAQ
How do I cancel Kaspersky auto-renewal?
For a current direct subscription, sign in to My Kaspersky, open Subscriptions, select the plan, choose Manage Subscription and then Cancel Subscription. A legacy Nexway, app-store, reseller or ISP purchase must be canceled with that provider.
Will Kaspersky stop working immediately after I cancel?
No. Kaspersky says cancellation stops automatic charges for later terms while the current paid period keeps full protection until its expiration date. Save the displayed end date after cancellation.
Does uninstalling Kaspersky cancel the subscription?
No. Uninstalling changes software on a device. It doesn't alter the payment instruction held by Kaspersky, Nexway, Apple, Google, an ISP, a reseller or UltraAV.
Can I get a refund from Kaspersky?
Kaspersky’s current cancellation page says eligible Nexway purchases and renewal payments can be refunded when requested within 30 days of the order. Other sellers and regions can apply different terms.
How long does a Kaspersky refund take?
Kaspersky says an approved Nexway refund is normally credited within 5–7 business days. Your bank can take additional time to display it. Save the case number and watch the original payment method.
What if Kaspersky renewed about two weeks early?
Cancellation alone leaves that prepaid next term in place. Request a refund for the early renewal. If approved before the next term begins, current protection continues through the original expiry and the later term doesn't start.
How do I cancel Kaspersky bought through Apple or Google?
Use the Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase and cancel from that store’s Subscriptions screen. Deleting the app or removing it from My Kaspersky doesn't cancel store billing.
What should a former US Kaspersky customer cancel?
Check the current merchant and card descriptor. A transition account may now be billed by UltraAV rather than Kaspersky. Cancel in the account that owns the renewal and preserve the confirmation.
